Compact design for low profile integration.

Flex 3 cameras can be discreetly integrated into small installations, or allow you to optimize desktop capture volumes for tracking different types of objects.

Start Small and Grow Over Time

OptiTrack systems are modular, reducing your initial investment in motion tracking technology. Start with a 6 camera bundle for under $7k, and as your tracking needs or budget expands, add more cameras or new software applications to increase the capabilities of your system.

On-Camera Image Processing

The Flex 3 can send a variety of pre-processed image types to the PC, resulting in more efficient imaging and system scaling.

camera processing precision

Processing Types

Precision

Similar to Object processing, but sends selective grayscale images of markers to the PC for calculation of object data. Provides the most verbose marker information, but requires more CPU resources than Object processing.

Object

Performs on-camera detection of marker location, size, and roundness using our most precise grayscale processing methods. Provides excellent precision with the smallest CPU footprint.

MJPEG-Compressed Grayscale

Full resolution grayscale frames, compressed on-camera for highly scalable scene video capabilities.

Raw Grayscale

Full resolution, uncompressed grayscale.

stretch

Full resolution grayscale reference video.

All Flex cameras can be used as a reference video source - with synchronized, calibrated 3D overlay. Deliver and/or record full resolution, full frame rate video with 3D overlay of markers, rigid bodies, skeletons, etc.

Industry-Leading Precision

Our 3D precision is the best in the business, outperforming even the highest-resolution competition—which is why Activision selected OptiTrack to build the largest and most accurate performance capture stage in existence.

Zero Drift. Pure Precision.

Motive calibrates automatically and continuously with data collected during normal use of the system. No longer does your calibration degrade over time with changing temperatures or challenging building movement—it is always a “fresh” calibration.

flex3 fps

Fast, precise, and efficient capture

The Flex 3 is capable of capturing fast moving objects with its global shutter imager and 100 FPS capture speed. By maximizing its 640 × 480 VGA resolution through advanced image processing algorithms, the Flex 3 can track markers with repeatable accuracy.

flex 3 lenses

Interchangeable M12 lenses

The Flex 3 can be optimized for a variety of applications with custom-designed, interchangeable M12 lenses. Choose between 3.5mm and 4.5mm EFL lenses to adapt your cameras to your ideal capture volume. Both feature a special spring focus assist, very low distortion, and fast F#1.6 apertures for increased tracking distance. Typical applications utilize 3.5mm for capture volumes in smaller spaces, 4.5mm for larger capture volumes and camera counts.

infrared lightwave 2

Unobtrusive infrared light

Flex 13 cameras emit 850nm IR light, which is nearly invisible, for inconspicuous illumination that prevents the vision fatigue and unwanted attention to your capture rig caused by cameras that emit visible spectrum light.

Motive is behind every seamless workflow

OptiTrack’s Motive software delivers speed, precision, and ease of use, streamlining everything from calibration to real-time streaming, while tools like Aim Assist and auto-masking make even large system setups simple for one person.
